Throughout OSHA Safe + Sound Week 2018 Highway Transport met the goal of zero on the following:

  • zero highway accidents
  • zero spills
  • zero injuries

Highway Transport did have two minor incidents, so we didn’t meet that goal, but it was an outstanding week overall.

A big word of thanks to everyone at Highway Transport:

  • mechanics
  • tank cleaners
  • office personnel

Everyone worked together to make our Safe + Sound week a success.

Rick Lusby, Vice President of Safety, says, “Congratulations for a job well done, and I challenge everyone to see if we can make each week with these same goals. Let’s strive for Safe + Sound year ‘round! “

Here is Highway Transport’s Certificate of Recognition:

During the week of August 13 – 19, all Highway Transport employees participated in the Highway Hazard Hunt. All employees and every location nationwide were encouraged to discover safety scenes.
Some ideas for employees:
• Capture an image of someone who keeps you working safely every day.
• Take a picture of something that might be a safety hazard, and send it to your manager
• Simply tell your manager of something you suspect might be unsafe.
• Discover your artful side and capture a beautiful scene of your hardhat or a piece of safety gear.
Instructions to employees: Take a picture and send it to your manager. Or simply tell your manager.

Here is a showcase of the Highway Hazard Hunt hosted by Highway Transport. Enjoy these scenes from some of the moments that happened throughout Safe + Sound Week…

Service Center Manager Doug Vineyard says—Stopped by the service center. Everyone was safe and sound following policy and procedures in shop and tank wash. Told all the guys I was very impressed to see everyone was working safely. Captured group photo of this great group of 3rd shift guys which we don’t get to see very often.
